Hello everyone and welcome to the ELEVENTH DAY of distance learning. This week, we will finish our work with Taylor series and then begin our review of the year's calculus work.
Here is what we will be covering (THREE lessons this week). Please read which days I will be posting.
Tuesday: "Practicing with Taylor Series"
Thursday (no longer Wednesday): "AP Review Day 1" AND Maclaurin Series Quiz (memorization quiz).
Friday: "AP Review Day 2" AND Taylor Series Quiz (FRQ)
As a heads up, over Spring Break, I will be giving the first of a series of FRQ "practice tests." These are to simulate the exam this year and will replace the "practice tests" I typically give going into the AP exam season. More details later this week.
Also, please start contributing to the AP Calculus BC Review Document in the right bar->
OFFICE HOURS
While you can text or call me if you need anything, I have specific time set aside for calculus each week as follows:
Monday: 4:00PM-5:00PM
Wednesday-Friday: 3:00PM-4:00PM
Please feel free to contact me if you need anything during those times, and I will respond immediately. Celine also suggested having a question/suggestion form for those who want to submit questions but are a tired of all the darn emails! I have moved the form for questions to the place at the right above "Archives."
NEXT OFFICE HOURS ARE TODAY: HERE IS THE LINK PLEASE COME IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. I NEED YOU TO BE ACTIVE!

TUESDAY'S ASSIGNMENT
Today, you will continue to learn about working with Taylor Series. Follow the steps below to complete your work! Stay focused without me. Please. Given our timeline and the difficulty of this unit we need everyone's focus, even at home. Please read ALL the steps first before beginning.
1: Watch the video below to complete the notes and examples in the 10.10 packet. If you want, you can try each problem and then check your work against mine OR you can you use my work as examples to think along with. I am attaching a pdf of the day's lesson below. You can print and fill it in or take CAREFUL NOTES BY HAND. It might seem slow that way, but everything I did in all my math classes was recording problems by hand. Do that if you need to. It will be ok. Write it all down!
2: When I say to pause the video, complete the practice problems indicated in the packet and check your answers against mine in the video. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to a printer to complete by hand the notes. There will NOT be a PDF of the answers to today's lesson below. You will need to watch the video for the notes. If this is a problem, email or text me.
3: For homework, try the two FRQs in the 10.10 lesson packet homework section by yourself without notes. Then use the videos I posted and the scoring guides to score yourself and make corrections in a different color. Email me pictures of your work (with the corrections) and fill out the Score Report form by 6PM Wednesday 4/1. I have posted the Score Report form along with the videos and scoring guides in a post above.
HOMEWORK DUE 6PM Wednesday
1. Complete the 10.10 Homework FRQs without notes. Check your answers against my videos and scoring guides posted above. Correct your work in a different color. Email me pictures of your work (with the corrections) and fill out the Score Report form.
2. Study for the Maclaurin series Quiz on THURSDAY. The Maclaurin series you need to memorize are on page 1 of the 10.9 lesson packet. On the quiz, you will be given the function; you will need to write out the first several terms and the general summation notation (what you see on page 1 of the 10.9 lesson packet).
Announcements
1. For those of you wanting to retake quizzes or tests, I am going to have people do that during my office hours times. The next time is Wednesday at 3PM. Please email me if you are planning on using that time to retake something. I do know not everyone has a calculator, but we will do our best. I will post the Hangouts Meet link above, too. My goal is to have you in the conference so I can monitor you taking the test/quiz and give you time checks.
2. We have two more upcoming quizzes. On THURSDAY 4/2 (not Wednesday), there will be a quiz to make sure you have memorized your important Maclaurin series. See page 1 of the 10.9 student packet. On Friday 4/3, there will be a Taylor series quiz. All of these quizzes are retakable. I just need some good measures of where you all are at since I can't see you work!
3. There are TWO more interventions this week. Please check the list below. Email me if you cannot attend, but otherwise I expect you are there! I will post and send out links as normal!
